Here I stand waiting
concrete road to my place
mobiles meet and pass by
smokes belching from every tail
here I stand waiting
under the fury of the noon sun
bleeding my every water
til they soak dry my shirts
here I stand waiting
the clouds change to dark
drops fall down my face
dripping wet my vulnerable coat
here I stand waiting
thirty minutes gone by
still no sign of a ride home
better I give up and walk instead.
